LIVESTRONG DAY, MAY 16

On Wednesday, May 16th, the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) will lead a group of 200 advocates from every state to demand that our nation's leaders invest in resources, treatment and services for everyone battling cancer. On the same day, LAF supporters from across the country will host LIVESTRONG Day activities to raise awareness of cancer issues and show support for people affected by cancer in their communities. As a National Partner of the LAF, the ASPI encourages pain management advocates to take part in these activities and bring attention to the importance of providing relief to cancer survivors suffering from pain. Visit www.livestrong.org for more information and to register your activities.

FIBROMYALGIA IN FOCUS

The National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA) is inviting the pain community to join them the weekend of May 11-13, 2007 for National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.  The campaign will feature a new documentary film titled Living with Fibromyalgia with coordinated events and showings across the country. Living with Fibromyalgia is the first documentary film to explore the most intimate feelings and life-altering experiences of people living with FM. The NFA has created a packet including everything you need to coordinate and promote your own event: postcard invitations, event flyers, a CD with templates to help you spread the word about your event to local media, and an exhibition DVD copy of the film.  More information is available at: http://www.fmaware.org/may12.htm
