Elements of CompetenceThis CME activity has been designed to change patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, and systems-based practice, four of the six competencies embraced by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Accreditation StatementThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health; the Alliance of State Pain Initiatives; Northern California Pain Initiative; National Association of Social Workers; the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, Extension Services in Pharmacy; and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Education in Nursing. The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation StatementThe University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health designates this educational activity for a maximum of 9 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Continuing Education UnitsThe University of Wisconsin-Madison, as a member of the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA), authorizes this program for 0.9 continuing education units (CEUs) or 9 hours. Nursing Continuing EducationThe University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Education in Nursing is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Pharmacy Continuing EducationExtension Services in Pharmacy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Attendees may earn up to 9 hours of continuing education credit (0.9 CEUs) for this conference, designated as a knowledge-based activity. Verification of CEUs is based on attendance at lectures and workshops, with satisfactory completion of all assessment and evaluation materials. Statements of credit will be mailed by Extension Services in Pharmacy within one month of receipt of evaluation/assessment materials. Universal Program Number 073-999-09-060-L04-P.
